Hannes Hofmann (Dr.) Cofounder
h.hofmann@dynafrax.com
Hannes leads DynaFrax's scientific programming and technology development in the fields of geothermal energy including stimulation design, induced seismicity analysis and mitigation, and long-term efficiency prediction. Hannes received his Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Alberta (Canada) in 2015. He is currently a PostDoc at the Helmholtz Centre Potsdam GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences in Section 4.8 Geoenergy. He works in the EU project DESTRESS, where he is responsible for design and demonstration of stimulation technologies for Enhanced Geothermal Systems that reduce environmental impacts, such as induced seismicity, while increasing the hydraulic and thermal performance of the system. Hannes was awarded the Young Scientist Prize of the Federal Association of Geothermal Energy in 2018.
Hannes's expertise is:
  • Reservoir engineering
  • Numerical modelling
  • Enhanced Geothermal Systems
  • Stimulation treatments
  • Induced seismicity
