FRACOD is a boundary element model (BEM) based code which was developed to simulate fracture initiation and propagation in an elastic rock medium.

FRACOD2D can simulate the following problems:

(1) Complex fracture propagation in jointed rock mass

(2) Multiple region problems

(3) Time-dependent problems

(4) Gravitational problems

(5) Thermal-mechanical coupling

(6) Sequential excavation

(7) Rock strength and modules anisotropy

(8) Temperature dependent rock properties

(9) Hydro-mechanical coupling

(10) Ice swelling mechanism

(11) Hydro-thermal-mechanical coupling

(12) Strain failure criterion

FRACOD3D can simulate the following problems:

(1) Three dimensional crack growth

(2) Three dimensional thermo-mechanical coupling

(3) Three dimensional hydro-mechanical coupling

(4) Three dimensional thermo-hydro-mechanical coupling

(5) Multiple material region problem

(6) Transversely isotropic material problem
